In the winter of 1862, during the Civil War, the US Army sends a volunteer company to patrol the uncharted West.. Minervini built the set in Montana, then let the cast live there for two months. Expressed dialogue and thoughts are those performed by the actors while living in the desert imagining themselves as Civil War soldiers.. "The Damned" Totally boring movie. It feels like someone filmed a home video with a phone or an old camcorder. Although the landscapes are beautiful, the soldiers walk around doing nothing. The changing seasons and snowfall add a little to the experience. Overall, it’s a complete waste of time. You’ll be better off watching a traffic jam from your window in a big city that’s funnier than this movie. I thought the directors and filmmakers were famous but I never heard of them. It seems that the most notable filmmakers make films for intercultural audiences, not for ordinary people like me.
