In the midst of an international crisis, career diplomat Kate Wyler is thrust into a high-profile job she is ill-suited for, with dramatic consequences for her marriage and political future. Producers convinced the American and British governments to allow them to use real-life locations as filming locations for the series, including the fledgling American Embassy (in Nine Elms), which opened in 2018. Britain allowed filming in the Foreign Secretary’s office, which was rarely donated; an honor for any film or movie production, especially an American one.
Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger of gigantic proportions
Although it is accurately described as being the largest residential area (11 acres) in London outside of Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming. ). Good heavens!
I don’t know if my heart can handle season 3
In season 2, I almost had a heart attack in the final minutes of season 2. Initially I thought it was a decisive, slow-moving political drama. Maybe another kind of “feel good TV drama” like “Madame Secretary”.
Boy, was I wrong?
The diplomat will be in your chair every episode. He looks at them like starving animals. This is political theater at its finest.
They’ve slit more people’s throats than I could have imagined in my wildest dreams
And even if only a tenth of what REALLY happens in US politics and various agencies (CIA, intelligence, diplomacy) is true, it’s still a wild ride. Keri Russell once again plays a strong female lead, which reminds me why I loved her performance so much from “The Americans”. He’s outstanding!
