Kaya Scodelario’s character, Laura Harrison, is fictional
Fictional mini-series based on the life of Ayrton Senna da Silva, the Brazilian racing legend who won the Formula One World Drivers’ Championship three times. She is based on journalists who covered Ayrton Senna’s career. Additionally, Scoledario’s family is Brazilian, originally from Senna’s home state of São Paulo. She is also fluent in Brazilian Portuguese.
There are no mountains in England – especially Norfolk, which is famous for its flat landscape
The early races of Senna’s career in England are shown on a circuit next to a mountain range. Starting off this Senna series review, I will start by talking about the casting, especially the choice of Gabriel Leone for the role. He is an actor on the rise, and this was undoubtedly the biggest role of his career. I believe he will continue to make great films with top directors because he has immense talent.
I wanted to watch the making-of, and it is sensational-surreal for a Brazilian series
But there is no greater honor than to embody a national idol and a hero. Other actors have also been able to bring their characters to life brilliantly, transporting us to a bygone era thanks to the narrations of Galvão Bueno and the golden age of Xuxa. The production of the series is impeccable and, honestly, Netflix made a great decision to invest everything so that the series is not only a national but also an international success. The work on the audio capture, the creation of cars and racing suits identical to those of the time and the excellent CGI work were all remarkable.
Watching the series made me understand this
I was not born in Senna’s time, but I knew he was important to our country. However, I had not fully grasped the extent of his achievements or his story. Senna’s moving story touches us, from his childhood to the tragic accident. Senna is gone, but his legacy remains, and thanks to this series, it will be etched in the minds of future generations.
But overall, it’s a 10/10
The only criticism, which did not affect my final score but is worth mentioning, is about some indecent scenes that did not need to be included. The series should have been broadcast openly in family, and I think that was a mistake. Thanks to everyone who participated!
